Bush

I have a a dislike of President Bush. He is arrogant and self-rightious, but it has morphed into something else. I was watching the news and the topic was President Bush's visit to the town that was ravaged, by a tornado. You may remember Hurricane katrina and the absence of President Bush in it's aftermath. You may think it is because he doesn't care about black people, poor people, or maybe he just doen't care. I tend to think that he just didn't want to be there whatever the reason. President Bush has expressed that he is the President and that whatever Congress wants he doesn't care. Apparently He thinks that he is America. He forced us into a war. He holds people with out rights of any sort, and the patriot act has extend that service unto American citizens. All he has to say is that they are "enemy combatant" and whoops there goes your rights. He also lies to us and he thinks this is okay. I think that he thinks that he has divine right to lead America and is on some kind of Crusade given to him by God. President Bush is dangerous if he truely thinks the way I think he thinks. Then to him the rules and regulation on power in America are just a facede to appease the public. What this actually means for the future is uncertain to me. Read "New World Order in America" by Betmo over at Life's Journey. It tells a story of what the Patriot act allows the Bush administration to do. That is the America our children and Grandchildren wil inherit if this transformation is allowed to happen. They used our fear after 9/11 to manipulate the public to allow them to strip away our rights. President Bush believes that his authority has no limits. He thinks that he can do what ever he pleases and we the public are just supposed to sit back and take it. One man comes to mind when I think of President Bush's view of himself, and the source, and nature of his power.

I cannot disagree with any of what you said. But I think, at the same time, there is something deeper. I think that Bush represents not only himself, but rather the neocon faction, the PNAC'ers who stated boldly before Bush's 2000 usurpation of the Oval Office that they inteded to have the White House make war in Afghanistan, Iraq, and then either Iran or Syria. Out of all the people involved with PNAC (Rumsfeld, Kristol, Cheney, and other signators), Bush is probably the least culpable. But his irresponsibility is one for the ages, right up there with Mariee Antoinette's.

x.dell has it right, Bush is just the front-man for the organization that backed him into office. And they used the Supreme Court to make it happen, so don't forget they have mojo juice.

The playing field is no longer contained to nations, but has spread to the whole planet. The stakes are the world. "American Interests" are no longer the interests of the populace, but multi-national, out-sourcing, corporations. Funny how as the world gets bigger the citizen gets smaller.

"Privatization" is the tactic, because, if it can be made for sale, he who accounts for the numbers can buy it and own it. No war to conquer and win it, straight in through the bank door. No peasant the wiser. Those who have to take the accountants' word for it get laid off by outsourcing and then have to enlist, for fiscal reasons, and wind up defending it from those it was stolen... I mean... -purchased- from.

C-dell interesting post. I don't disagree with what you have to say about the so-called Patriot Act, as I have said many times in the past, it is not needed.

I will disagree on two things, well maybe one.

Our rights and freedoms do not extend to non-Americans or those that wish to destroy America, regardless if they have a citizenship or not. These people or enemy combatants that we take prisoner from distant lands, in this "war" on terrorism, need not to have any rights extended to them.

With that said, most of the remaining prisoners that we have in Cuba; the U.S tried to export to their countries, but those countries did not want to take them, for various reasons. There are less than 600, left I think, and I do believe that over half of the prisoners are not allowed into their own home country. I might be wrong on the numbers as I am too lazy right now to double check.

Bush: I as you know am not a fan of this guy, but in his defense, he is doing exactly what a strong president has to do. He is not looking to get brownie points, he does not care what other countries think, and to some extent what America thinks. He is doing what he thinks is right for his country, what he thinks is right to save American lives and interests around the world. How we got into Iraq, was not a lie. I don't believe he lied to us, but acted upon plentiful and faulty intelligence. The problem with intelligence is that you have to discern what is true and what is not true. That is the hardest thing to do. I as you know agree with this war for a different reason, one that is personal to me, as I was there when 37 bodies were pulled off the USS Stark in March of 1987. The day that Saddam declared war on the United States and attacked the USS Stark. I also think that this was the right thing to do because Saddam had the U.N, Germany, Russia, China, France, Spain, and other countries in his back pocket, giving Saddam a false sense of security. I believe that Saddam would have attacked his neighbors again as he had several times in the past costing more American and other lives to be lost. I believe that he did have some bio and chem weapons, but those were transported out way before we attacked, as Bush let it known for months what was going to happen.

Sorry for the length.
Great Post

x.dell took the words right out of my mouth... (and arranged them better than I would have, too).

Bush is the puppet, and Cheney et al are the puppeteers.

Interesting how it has come out lately that Cheney "leaked" reports to the press --- and then cited the press's reporting of those leaks as justification for the administration's actions.

c-dell- nicely done- i am going to guess king george 3? am i close? my thought is- our own government is more of a danger than any foreign powers have been- although after 6+ years under bushco that has probably changed. i won't rehash woulda shoulda couldas- but so far- the patriot act, the military commissions act, and other nebulous legislation passed by the last congress seems to have done nothing but lose taxpayer's money and erode our constitutional rights. the only thing we have gotten out of the neo cons "leadership" is a soaring national debt, 3100+ dead american soldiers with thousands wounded, having to walk barefoot in an airport screening line while leaving our perfumes at home-- and not a whit safer to boot. we won't even go to the reprehensible domestic policies. keep up the good work c-dell- you are putting the pieces together.

Bush is a total asshat, yessirrie, but he is also the product of the oil barons of these nations, some of whom are evangelical Christians, some who are as godless as a doorknob. I see him as a puppet on the strings of the oil refineries, killing our soldiers in the name of greed and profit. And the next time I see Cheney bow his head in prayer, I will hurl. He is his own god. There was a time that it was fun to hate Bush. Now I just hate him and his handlers too.

You should watch the Koppel on Discovery show Sunday night. I've seen the one clip over and over again ho after the war started Bush plainly said the he started the war and it's up to us to finish it. That's the sort of attitude he has; rather than both start AND finish something he'll just pass the buck to whomever is next.

George Bush is crazy. That's the bottom line. I didn't vote for his ass the first time, or the second time. And, I totally agree with your analogy, that he seems to feel he rules this nation by divine right.

Perhaps he's just one of those people who are really scared of storms??? As president, it's be hard to admit that (or adnit anything as it turns out- lol!)
Good insights, as always, c-dell!

c-Dell,
At least you are honest in saying that you dislike the President of the United States.

tim-- I agree with you. We were attacked. The same as at Pearl Harbor. This time, innocent civilians were targeted. Military targets were also hit at the Pentagon. Our enemies do not follow the Geneva Convention. We do.

We are at war with racist islamo-facists.
