Question of the Day

When my grandmother was sick it was a hard time for me, But eventually she got better. So I thought. When she got really sick I found out that she had put on a strong face for me. This was during my graduation. When I thought she was better I was extremly happy it seemed thing were fine. After her I found out the truth, I was hurt. So When was I better off, ignorant, or knowledgable.

Question: Is false hope better than no hope?

Please post your opinions

Is lying the high road in some circumstances? Yes. Your grandmother's health is what it is; she's old, you're young, declining health is not for you to be concerned with. You have the mission of your life to be concerned with. Old people sit and talk about him and her, their health. They have lived their lives, made bonds, and the people they've bonded with start dropping off like flies. Young people have the mission of finding what to do with their lives.

I'm getting up there, to where people I know and love are starting to have health issues. I'm starting to realize I can't do things I used to able to do any more. I have a grandson. Am I going to burden him with the fact that with age comes health issues? No. I'm going to be as bright and alive as I can with him. He doesn't need that crap. He needs life to be something to enjoy. Not worry about.

You just graduated high school, and are off to college, (good move!), you have a mission to fulfill, your grandmother burdening you with worries about her would not help you.

It's wasn't dishonest of your grandmother. It was the ultimate in honest respect for life, the order of life, and love for you.

-C, I have tried to write something that was not long winded and brilliant.

I can only say that we all die at one point in time. There is no use in telling someone, in this case you, about ills that we as people, have no control over. You have enough to worry about with college and your mid-terms.

If there is something that you can do for her, then I would do it. I think she is more concerned about you getting good grades and concentrating on your school work, then she is about her well being.

I lost my father and an Uncle that was like a father to me. It is hard, I knew it was coming, but I did not think about it, until it happened. My older brother as well passed away, unexpected, again, this is a fact of life.

I know this sounds harsh and cruel, but I think you need to concentrate on the here and now, not on what will happen. That is something we all will face sooner or later.

I hope you are doing well in college. I believe it should be mid-term time, right?

I am unsure why your computer would freeze up on my blog. I did move to the beta blog. I kind of like the old one better.

Take care and good luck with your studies. Stay focused.

If you pretend for long enough, what you are pretending may become real. Also, who are you to say there really is no hope there anyway? By destroying what you think is nothing may be destroying something for someone else.

my motto: Hold on to nothing for dear life and never let it go.
